7th International Responsible Investment Conference

Presented by the Responsible Investment Association Australasia
in partnership with EPA Victoria on behalf of UNEP FI and UN PRI, the conference presents experts in responsible investment to Australian and New Zealand investment and business professionals. Investa Sustainability Institute's work on improving reporting transparency in the property sector was showcased.

NSW Energy Efficiency Training Program Launch

9 June 2010, Sydney


This event launched eighteen new training projects funded by the NSW Government. Investa Property Group's innovative in-house training for sustainability was presented as an 'industry perspective' with focus on how an organisation-wide training program can develop green skills and also stimulating demand for those skills.

 

Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Building Services (ARBS) Exhibitions

13 April 2010, Sydney


This conference and trade exhibition featured over 50 international and national experts discussing the role of HVAC & R systems in delivering energy savings and greenhouse gas reductions from the operation of buildings. Investa was asked to present on a variety of topics, including mandatory disclosure of energy performance in buildings, reducing carbon emissions from buildings, and understanding where value lies in future property markets.

Presented by Green Building Council of Australia and Property Council of Australia, Green Cities has become the largest and most influential annual green building conference in the Asia Pacific region. The conference examined how it is one thing to design a green building, and another to ensure it operates as designed.

Performative Ecologies in the Built Environment | Sustainable Research across Disciplines

The 43rd annual conference of ANZAScA discussed the latest research on the effect of operational, embodied, behavioural and infrastructural aspects of the built environment on society, environment and the economy. ISI presented "An analysis of energy efficiency actions within a portfolio of existing commercial office buildings."

The Future of Energy Efficiency Policy

The Energy Efficiency Council's National Conference 2009 brought together independent experts and policy makers from across Australia for in-depth, informed debate on how to put Australia at the forefront of energy efficiency improvement. The conference included a focus on retrofitting existing buildings and addressed the question: What market failures do we need to overcome to achieve the true potential for efficiency in commercial buildings?

Do you know HOW to manage green retrofitting?

This seminar hosted by Facilities Management Association of Australia

provided important insights into the green retrofitting process and the role of the facility manager. It explored the drivers for initiating the process, the property and facility issues, the preparation of a business case, the management of the project and stakeholders, and the ongoing operational and maintenance requirements to achieve a successful green facility outcome.

Mini conference: Retrofitting sustainability to offices and multi-residential buildings using bioclimatic principles: Looking for value adding

3 August 2009

The conference, convened by the architecture programs at the University of Sydney, sought feedback from practitioners on their approach to the challenges of retrofitting sustainability to offices and multi-residential buildings using bioclimatic principles. This conference brought together local and international experts to look at current research and its application to warming climates. The conference included a public lecture by internationally renowned architect Dr Ken Yeang sponsored by Investa.

Principles for Responsible Investment, 16-17 July 2009, Sydney, Uniited Nations Principles for Responsible Investment


The third United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment in person event included a session on “Responsible property ownership: The scope for tenant engagement”. This session explored how investors can effectively engage tenants on issues such as energy efficiency, green fit-outs, waste and recycling, and ongoing use of the building in the most sustainable way. The UNEP FI Property Working Group presented an upcoming report on tenant engagement, and signatories were invited to share their experiences.
